The town of Zestoa
The chance to understand different periods in history
Zestoa lies at the foot of the Izarraitz hills, on the banks of the Urola river. It is a town with a strong spa tradition, made popular by the water that flows from its thermal springs. But Zestoa is much more than a spa town. In the centre, the sights include the houses of Portalekoa, Lizenziadokua and Arretxe. In the outskirts, beyond the Zubiaurre Bridge, it is well worth visiting the gothic Lili Palace, which dates back to the 16th century.
There are many archaeological sites in the area around Zestoa. However, two in particular stand out: Idiakaitz (Irikaitz) and the Ekain cave, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in spectacular surroundings.
